 | Isaiah Washington's lie at Golden Globes Isaiah Washington's public lie at Golden Globes that prompted TR Knight to finally speak out. Background: When the original slur happened in Oct. 2006, during an argument Washington had on-set with Patick Dempsey in front of the entire cast and crew, the story got leaked to the media and made the news. Knight would not comment and did his best to ignore it hoping it would go away. Washington issued a PR "apology" and the story died down. At Golden Globes Washington himself brought it up again twice (once on the red carpet, and the other you see in this clip) and said the word again. That is why Knight finally decided to speak out. Washington just issued an apology for his Golden Globes actions as well. |

 | Isaiah Washington explains anti-gay slur Hello, I'm Rebecca Field with a UPI entertainment update on this Tuesday, July 3, 2007.Actor Isaiah Washington is explaining why he said that antigay slur. On CNN's "Larry King Live" last night, the actor blamed his "Grey's Anatomy" co-star Patrick Dempsey for making him angry. Washington said he and the actor got into a heated fight over Dempsey's tardiness...which resulted in him using the word. Washington told King he's not homophobic and the term was used in a moment of anger and not directed at anyone.Fans are going wild over the newest "Harry Potter" book. Amazon.com says pre-sales for "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows" have reached an all time high. Since pre-sales began on Feb. first, there have been 1.6 million orders worldwide for the book. This is the seventh book in the series and is set to be released July 21.Actress Cameron Diaz is denying breaking up illusionist Criss Angel's marriage. Her rep says when she met Angel, he was separated from his wife and had filed for divorce. Angel says he and Diaz only went on a few dates, and they have no relationship. Angel's ex is reportedly suing him for abandonment and mental cruelty. She also reportedly plans to subpoena Diaz, naming the actress as his lover.Opera icon Beverly Sills has lost her battle with cancer. The singer and former Chairwoman of the metropolitan Opera died yesterday at the age of 78. Her manager says she died of lung cancer. In Sills' career, she took on more than 70 roles and recorded 18 full length operas. Following her last appearance on stage in 1980, she served as Chairwoman until 2005.Actress Lindsay Lohan celebrated her 21st birthday in rehab. People magazine reports her mom and siblings arrived in Los Angeles yesterday to join Lohan at the treatment facility. Her mom said it would be a family celebration.  | Isaiah Washington in a tolerance PSA Hello, I'm Rebecca Field with a UPI entertainment update on this Friday, May 25, 2007.A Public service announcement featuring actor Isaiah Washington debuted last night on ABC. In the PSA, the actor sends a message of tolerance for race, gender and sexual orientation. People magazine says the message was produced by ABC who worked with Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation and the Gay, Lesbian & Straight Education Network. Washington faced a lot of criticism last year when he made an anti-gay slur about his co-star T.R. Knight.Actress Keira Knightly is firing back at a British tabloid. E! Online reports she won nearly 6,000 dollars in libel damages yesterday from the Daily Mail for commenting on her weight. The paper said she had a dangerous eating disorder and that others were following her lead. In a recent issue of Elle magazine, Knightley said she's naturally thin and the photos that sparked the rumors were taken after shooting "Pirates of the Caribbean"...which was very physically demanding.Singer Courtney Love is speaking out against a new ad featuring a photo of her late husband Kurt Cobain. In a British ad for Dr. Martens shoes, there's a picture of the Nirvana singer in an angelic robe and the company's boots. Love's rep tells People magazine she thinks the ads are "outrageous" and she would have never approved the use of the picture if she'd known. The company has apologized for using the photo. Cobain committed suicide in 1994.Orlando Bloom says he's taking a break from the big screen...for now. The actor has appeared in two hit trilogies... "Pirates of the Caribbean" and "The Lord of the Rings." Now he says he plans to focus on theater. He's set to star in a play in London called "InCelebration." The actor says he's excited but also nervous for the transition.Tom Arnold has filed for divorce...for the third time. E! News says he claimed irreconcilable differences with his wife Shelby Roos. The two met at the 200 democratic national convention and they were married 2 years later. Arnold was first married to Roseanne Barr which ended in 1994.
