Smith, the daughter of Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith, is showing such promise that rap mogul Jay-Z has signed her to his label, Roc Nation. "Whip My Hair" debuted as Willow Smith's first single in September of 2010. A YouTube video of just the song's audio has been viewed more than 400000 times in 2 days. Smith's vocals on "Whip My Hair" prompted some media outlets, including '"Entertainment Weekly,'' to compare her to a young Rihanna. Smith's hairstyle, a "distinctive lop-sided" cut, also resembles Rihanna's. In an interview with radio host Ryan Seacrest on September 9, 2010, Jay-Z spoke highly of the young prodigy. He told Seacrest that when he first heard "Whip My Hair," he didn't know that 9-year-old Willow Smith was the artist. Jay-Z says of Willow, "She has a child's innocence but she has a clear vision of who she is and who she wants to be." Jay-Z went on to compare Smith to "a young Michael Jackson." Talent appears to run deep in the Smith family. Willow's older brother, 12-year-old Jaden Smith, has a budding acting career, starring in the 2010 remake of ''The Karate Kid.''
