Pakistani police, American embassy personnel, and the FBI examine witnesses, phone records, e-mails, and hard drives. Who has him? Where is he? There's also the why: because of US abuse of prisoners at Guantanamo, because of a history of Journal cooperation with the CIA, because Pearl is a Jew? Through it all, Mariane is clearheaded, direct, and determined. Daniel Pearl was born of Jewish parents. His grandfather has a street named after him in Israel (Chaim Pearl St.).  | Je Anne bij Paul de Leeuw MaDiWoDoVrijdag-show 16 november 2010 Het tijdloze verhaal uit de dagboeken van Anne Frank keert dit seizoen terug in de theaters en wel in een bijzondere versie. In Je Anne vormen liedjes en dagboekfragmenten (en soms een combinatie van beiden) een rode draad door de vertelling van de complete onderduikperiode. Het verhaal blijft hierbij volledig trouw aan de feiten zodat het een ware Anne Frank laat zien. Abke Bruins neemt de rol van Anne Frank op zich. Andere hoofdrollen zijn er oa voor Thom Hoffman (Otto Frank) en Levi van Kempen (Peter van Pels). Op 6 juli 1942 doken Otto en Edith Frank samen met hun dochters Margot (16) en Anne (13) onder in de opslagruimtes achter het kantoorpand van Otto's bedrijf aan de Prinsengracht 263. Het echtpaar Van Pels (door Anne in haar dagboeken 'Van Daan' genoemd) en hun zoon Peter voegden zich al snel bij hen, later gevolgd door tandarts Fritz Pfeffer (Albert Dussel). De acht onderduikers verbleven op hun schuilplek -- door Anne omgedoopt tot 'het achterhuis' -- tot hun ontdekking op 4 augustus 1944. De musical Je Anne vertelt wat zich afspeelde in het achterhuis in deze twee jaren. De vele moeilijke momenten, de spanning en onzekerheden, maar ook de onderlinge warmte en momentjes van hoop worden belicht.
