She began her singing career in 2001 and represented Belgium in the Eurovision Song Contest 2006 with "Je t'adore" coming in 12th place in the semi-final.Ryan was born to Dutch parents in a small village named Tessenderlo in Belgium. She grew up in a musical family, and had talent for music at a very early age. At eight years of age she had learned to play the piano and guitar, and could easily learn to play anything she heard on the radio.Kate Ryan,22 de Julho de 1980, nascida com o nome de Katrien Veerbeck, é uma cantora pop/Trance belga. Se lançou no mundo da música , oficialmente em 2001. O seu single de estreia foi Scream for more , que teve sucesso na Europa e nos Estados Unidos. Em 2002 lançou o seu albúm de estreia Different que vendeu mais de 250 000 cópias por toda a Europa.O seguinte single de Different, intitulado de Ur my love , foi o único que não teve um videoclipe, mas ainda hoje é uma das musicas mais tocadas da Kate em comunidades de blogs , especialmente o Hi5.O terceiro single, lançado a meados de 2002 , Desenchantée cover da música de 1990 da cantora francesa Myléne Farmer tornou se numa das melhores músicas de dança do ano seguinte 2003 por toda a Europa, incluíndo Portugal, onde foi número 12 na tabela dos singles mais vendidos.
