The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie. Maggie Smith.PART 2. "Colour enlivens the spirit, does it not?"Miss Brodie is invited to an interview with the Headmistress. As a Scot, I can identify with some of the characters depicted in this film. This scene is filled with barely hidden mutual animosity.Perfect acting from Maggie Smith and Celia Johnson.
The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie. Maggie Smith.PART 3. 'The Letter Scene'. Every good opera, or film must have a Letter Scene! La Traviata being an apt example. This one rates as one of the best! Without the superb acting of Maggie Smith, and Celia Johnsone, it could so easily have become a mere parody of what Muriel Spark intended. 10/10.

MAGGIE SMITH & JUDI DENCH INTERVIEW Part 1 While promoting their film Ladies in Lavender in 2005, the great Dames gave an interview to Leonard Lopate.Part 2: http://youtube.com/watch?v=-ToJZiTmYXYA new DVD entitled Maggie Smith at the BBC has recently been released, which sounds great. Unfortunately the release seems to have been marred by idiocies: 1.) It's not available in the UK (even though Maggie is British) and 2.) It omits the BBC productions of Lily in Love and Memento Mori, in which is contained one of Maggie's "funniest performances" according to her biographer. Insane.
