 | Tell Me - Groove Theory Groove Theory was an American R&B and hip hop music duo formed in New York City in 1991 when singer Amel Larrieux met rapper Bryce Wilson through a mutual friend. The two found themselves perfect for each other as both were upset with the direction their career was taking. Wilson hoped to use the group as a chance to utilize his production talents while Larrieux wanted a chance to shine in R&B. The group received a deal with Epic Records, and in 1995, they released their self-titled debut album Groove Theory. The album features the gold-selling hit single "Tell Me" which reached number five on the Billboard Hot 100 and number three on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs. |

 | Amel Larrieux - Gills and Tails This beautiful singer/songwriter started her career as one half of the group Groove Theory in 1995. In the summer of that same year, "Tell Me" topped the R&B as well as the pop charts, giving the group notoriety and brief success. After her stint with Groove Theory, she decided to work on her solo projects and collaborating with her husband to release "Infinite Possibilities" in 1999 on Epic Records. This is from her 2006 cd entitled, "Morning", on Blisslife Records, arguably this is one of the smoothest songs on her album. If you are a purist of R&B music, you will dig this!!!! I |
